SYMPTOMS OF MIGRAINE:
A migraine tends to be a very bad headache with a throbbing pain on 1 side of the head.
You may get other symptoms just before a migraine, such as:
-Feeling very tired and yawning a lot
-Craving certain foods or feeling thirsty
-Changes in your mood
-A stiff neck
You may also get warning signs you're about to have a migraine (called an aura).
WHEN TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT MIGRAINE:
Migraines are intense headaches often felt as throbbing pain on one side of the head, sometimes with warning signs (aura) such as flashing lights, numbness, or dizziness. While many people can manage migraines with lifestyle changes, painkillers, or prescribed medicines, it’s important to know when to seek medical help. See a GP if your migraines are becoming more severe, frequent (more than once a week), lasting longer than usual, difficult to control, or regularly linked to your period. Get urgent medical advice if a migraine lasts over 72 hours, if aura symptoms continue for longer than an hour, or if you are pregnant or have recently had a baby. Call 999 immediately if a headache comes on suddenly and severely, or if it is accompanied by worrying symptoms such as vision loss, difficulty speaking, confusion, seizures, very high temperature with meningitis signs, or weakness down one side of the body.
